#ThisWeek

My friend, Mandy started a new series on her blog called #This Week.  #This Week is a weekly series where Mandy provides you with a prompt for the week.  This week's prompt was "Morning Routine."

I didn't get very many photos of my morning routine this week.  This week was actually atypical because Maddie was sick on Wednesday and again on Friday.  I wanted to document Erik and Wolfie getting ready for the day but that didn't happen this week.  Maybe next week I can add those photos.

Mornings start very early at our house.  We get up at 5:35 a.m.  Sometimes I hit the snooze button.  Erik and I get up and get ready for work.  When he works, he leaves the house at 6:10 am.  I get Maddie and JoJo up at 6:20 and they shower.  I get Wolfie up about 6:30 and he showers and gets dressed.  It's usually a mad dash to get out of house on time.  It often involves a little yelling on my part...Hurry up or I'm going to be late for work.

This is me pretty much immediately out of bed.  I use a mask from Rodan and Fields every morning so I wait for it to dry while I brush my teeth and check Facebook.

Coffee.  What would a morning be without coffee?  People could seriously be harmed if I didn't get any.  Erik makes coffee for me every morning before he goes to work.

This is not a typical routine for us.  I usually park in the garage, but Erik had some work stuff in my space so I had to park outside.  The entire car was frosted over and on Wednesday the doors were frozen shut.

The boys in the back.  We leave the house early at 6:35 a.m.

So, here is some information for you so that you can participate too.  Make sure to visit Mandy's blog.

  • Take a photo (or several) to represent the theme.
  • Write a small (or long) story to go along with it.
  • Link up your project below using a URL to your Facebook post, Instagram post, or blog post.
  • Check back each Sunday for a new prompt!

Project Life Week 3

Hello everyone!  I just wanted to share Week Three's layout with you today.  I know there has been quite a gap, but it's because I'm waiting to order prints monthly from Persnickety Prints.  I don't want to pay $5 shipping every week.  So starting next week, I should be able to post weekly again.  I also want to tell you the photos don't do this layout justice.  It's very simple, put I love it.  I couldn't photograph outside because the weather was horrendous and windy for several days.  I didn't want to leave all of the pieces out so I just took the photos inside.  I wanted to clean my office,
which was a DISASTER so I had to put it away.

So here we go.  I had a ton of photos this week.  So many that I had to pair them down and be selective.  This week we went to a birthday party for my best friend's little ones, and then we had a snow day so there are tons of pictures of that.  I wanted to keep it simple so I used black cardstock and a white Distress marker from Tim Holtz to write on the paper.

We had a little incident with this page.  I accidentally made the title page say Week 2, when in fact, it was Week 3.  So I had to completely redo it.  I liked the other page better but hey.  I didn't realize it until after the photos were in the sleeves.  So I just snapped this quickly.  Hence, the glare from the sleeves.

I am totally loving these different photo sleeves I got.  It's adding some versatility and uniqueness to the layouts I think.  It's also sort of fun to have variety.  I really love the 3x3 border prints from Persnickety Prints.

Well, there you have it. Week 3.  I'm hoping to have Week 4 complete next week for you.  Have a great day!

Clique Kits Pep Rally|Punxsutawney

Well hello there everyone!  I am happy to see your virtual faces!  You should have arrived here from Sandy's blog.  I have two layouts to share with you today.  I LOVED this kit.  One of the cutest and most fun kits I've ever received from any kit club.  Clique Kits hit it out of the park with this kit, Punxsutawney.  Here are my layouts.  The first layout is based off of Kat's sketch.

The next layout I made, I used the leftover scraps from the page above.  I also used the cut files for the kit.  I love the heart cut file.  It's one of my favorites.  I used a few papers from the Clique Kits Store as well.  I hoped to have a video for you but the audio isn't coming out right :(  So maybe in a day or two I'll get that figured out.

Here is a close up of the layout.

I hope you enjoyed the layouts.  You are now off to Marcia's blog.

Just in case you get lost, here's the entire blog list:

Introducing a new series....Inside My Life

Hello there everyone.  I've been thinking a lot about a few series I can write on here.  One of course is my Project Life posts, but I wanted to try something new in addition to that.  As some of you know, I've been having a big struggle with photography.  I've taken pictures since I was small child.  My dad bought me my first camera when I was 8 years old.  However, after a few years of taking pictures professionally and having to spend time editing them, I've sort of lost my love for it.  As I write this post, I haven't touched my camera since Christmas.

So anyhow, I came up with a new series "Inside My Life."  The purpose of this series is to help me get my photography mojo back, and to have a little fun.  I really want to pick up the camera again and love it.  Not feel like it's a chore and something that has to be done.  So these posts will be photo heavy.  Some of the photos will be taken with my "real camera" and some with Mariphone (gotta love that girl).  I will also try and incorporate these photos into Project Life or into traditional scrapbook layouts.  So, I hope you are ready for some fun.  I will be posting soon with a new "episode" in this series.

And Fin...

Just a short little post to celebrate the end of my Professional Photography adventure.  It wasn't a decision that was made lightly, but it's done.  Gear has been taken off, photos have all been edited, SD cards have all been erased.  And here she sits waiting for me to get the itch in my fingers again.

It's a little bittersweet.

Project Life Week 2

Hey there everyone.  I wanted to share my Week 2 layout with you today.  It is the other half of my two page spread.  So Week 1 and Week 2 are only one page each.  Things will change for Week 3 because I had so many photos that I actually had to be choosy.  Ha.
Since this is the other side of Week 1, I kept the them the same so both pages would match in the album.  I used a few scraps from Studio Calico and from the Clique Kits January Kit, Tailor Made.  I used so much of my January Clique Kits kit that I have only scraps left.  So there you have it.  There's week 2.  I'll be back next week with Week 3!
